College and University C/U Partnerships

AAUW Greensboro partners with Triad institutions of higher education to engage students, faculty and staff in AAUW programs that advance equity and opportunity for women and girls.

We value our members, associates, and affiliations with our local colleges and universities. Working with the following campus representatives, the AAUW Greensboro Branch College/University Committee plans events and programs, coordinates stipends and fellowships, and generally supports our shared mission of equity and opportunity for women and girls.

START SMART  (C/U Webpage 3)

Start Smart salary negotiations skills workshops are held at college campuses in the Triad area and are designed to address gender pay inequities. Students at AAUW Partner Colleges and Universities learn skills to successfully negotiate salaries. Qualified AAUW trainers guide learning through presentations, skill development exercises and discussion.

The three hour interactive workshop helps young women applying for career positions to

  • learn the importance of making a budget,
  • recognize the kind of research that is essential before each interview,
  • practice interview negotiation skills related to salaries and benefits.
