Prior Start Smart workshops:
NC A&T State University – February 16, 2016 at the College of Arts & Sciences: Participants in the interactive workshop included18 young women – freshmen to grad students, representing majors in biology, psychology and electrical & civil engineering. With AAUW Greensboro member Brandy Propst as the Facilitator, the young women focused on the importance of negotiating for pay equity in their first professional positions, the value of budgeting and tips related to interviewing. The experience of role playing an interview was especially useful. The University Representative with AAUW, Dr. Margaret Kanipes, organized the workshop and welcomed everyone on behalf of the STEM Center of Excellence for Active Learning at A&T.
All AAUW College/University Partners in the area have held one or more Start Smart Salary Negotiation Workshops: Bennett College, Guilford College, High Point University, NC A&T State University and UNCG.
