President G. Elaine Morehead, native of Greensboro NC., graduated of Northwest High School. Continue her education at NCATSU with a BS in Early Childhood Education. Further studies at the University and acquired a MS in Adult Education. Her Career was with Girl Scouts for 30 years where she took early retirement. Elaine joined AAUW in 2055 and is proud to belong to a community reaches out to all women and girls so that they can achieve educational and economic equity. Elaine is an Elder at Presbyterian Church of the Cross. Elaine lived in Germany for a year. More extensive travel’s include Hawaii, England and Mexico’s National Center with Girl Scouts. Most recent traveled to Africa, with the United Methodist Church where we build a school in Kenya and provided learning experiences for students. Finally, we shared clothes, shoes and dewormed students at several schools. We topped off our excursion with two safaris, where our group saw all animals except the Lion. That was the main animal I wanted to see. In closing Why? Because I am a LEO the Lions and Learning is Life Long.
Finance Officer Libby Haile was born and raised in Greensboro, graduating from Page High School and the University of North Carolina at Greensboro with a BA in Biology. She completed her clinical laboratory training at the Los Angeles County – University of Southern California Medical Center and worked in the clinical laboratory there for twelve years. Her family moved back to Greensboro, and she taught hematology in the clinical laboratory school at Moses Cone Hospital then moved to the Area Health Education Center as a coordinator of continuing education programs for healthcare professionals. Libby also received a Master of Education degree from UNCG in Counseling. She has been a member of AAUW since 1997 (25 years!!!) Libby has been a loyal and active member of the Greensboro Branch, serving as the branch president in 2016 to 2018.
Vice President Programming Winnie Robinson started her Business studies in High School in Fresh Meadows, NY. She earned a BS in Business Administration from NCA&T State University and now holds an MBA in Global Management, a LSS Yellow Belt, and US Department of Labor contract compliance certificates.
She spent her early professional life in the International Fashion industry where she managed
global trade shows and events. Later in her career Winnie coordinated workgroups in foreign
and domestic Mergers and Acquisitions for a major accounting firm. Her interests in preparing youth for the corporate labor market led her to facilitate workforce readiness workshops for the City University of New York. She has consulted small businesses developing best practices in operations, management, labor law compliance, recruiting and employee assessment. She is an adept community advocate and relationship builder with an enhanced appreciation for diversity and inclusion. She and her husband, Philip, reside in High
Point. “My experience has revealed that people need to understand their natural attributes, necessary credentials and identify the occupations and industries in which they would excel. I provide guidance in that process for recent graduates just entering the workforce or for seasoned employees looking for enhanced opportunities. “
Winnie joined AAUW Greensboro in March 2018. She was immediately involved, attended the
spring luncheon (photo), served as a WorkSmart Salary Negotiation Skills facilitator, and
championed our mission to support women and girls.
After participating in the bylaws review last fall, Winnie self-nominated for the position of VP
Programming for the Greensboro Branch of AAUW. She has extensive professional experience
in trade show administration (Fashion Industry), international work group coordination (Deloitte
M&A) and budget and event partnerships (B2B and B2C).
Past President Laura Tew joined AAUW in 1997 while pursuing her career in with a fortune 500 company. Laura graduated from UNCG with her bachelor’s degree in chemistry in 1969. She values both her undergraduate research at UNCG and her teaching assistantship at Duke University as preparation for her thirty-seven-year career in ten states and included work on five continents. Her long career required self-study in technology and engineering building on her academic profile in mathematics and science. With financial support from her employer, Laura earned an MBA from Pace University and a Certificate in Corporate Citizenship from Boston college. After retirement in 2009, Laura returned to the classroom at UNCG to earn a Certificate in Nonprofit Management. Her active membership in the Greensboro Banch began in 2010. She is passionate about STEM careers and education for girls through programs including Triad Tech Savvy, IT For Girls, and Find Your STEM. She served as branch president-elect in 2018-19 and president in 2019 to 2022.
Secretary Tiffany Fearrington was introduced to AAUW when her then middle-school age daughter participated in several Tech Savvy camps. After inquiring about the organization, she joined AAUW Greensboro in 2018(?). Since joining the branch, Tiffany held the position of Nominations chairperson (2020-2022) and Bylaws Chairperson (summer 2021). Tiffany earned her bachelor’s degree in Finance and Risk and Insurance from Appalachian State University and received her Master of Business Administration from High Point University. After more than 20 years in corporate and manufacturing environments, Tiffany transitioned to a career in higher education where she is currently an instructor in the Business Department for a local college. Her passion is helping young adults (especially the underserved) be better prepared as they transition to life after college.
