PRESIDENT ELECT NOMINEE
Jenise Abdul-Razzaaq has over 20 years of clinical experience working with adult clients and their families, from behavioral health to hospice care. Jenise has a passion for helping clients embrace life’s challenges with hope and a renewed vision that can transform difficult situations to ones that utilizes the client’s own strengths to achieve positive outcomes. Jenise earned a bachelor’s degree of arts in social work from Ursuline College in Cleveland, Ohio, master’s degree of science and social administration from Mandel school of applied social sciences along with a Gerontology certificate, both from Case Western Reserve University Cleveland Ohio.
In 2017, Jenise and her family relocated to North Carolina. Currently, Jenise works as a consultant for social service and non-profit agencies introducing Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP)®. WRAP® is a mental wellness evidence-based practice that facilitates a framework for individuals to create a wellness plan to decrease intrusive or troubled feelings and behaviors, increase personal empowerment, and improve quality of life.
VICE PRESIDENT NOMINEE
Saundra Yates Evans, PhD, retired in 2018 as Assistant Vice Chancellor for Research Services and Project Management in the Division of Research and Economic Development at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University.
Dr. Evans established the Office of Research Services to increase faculty capacity to participate in sponsored programs, and to enhance faculty competitiveness in applying for funding to support research and academic efforts. She led teams to advance research development, provide grant proposal preparation services, administer research compliance and help faculty manage sponsored awards for complex projects. She currently serves as an external reviewer for the College of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences.
Her initial affiliation with NCA&T came in 2002 as director of a joint NCA&T-UNCG economic development project that provided IP and technology transfer services at The Nussbaum Center for Entrepreneurship. Before that, Dr. Evans was a marketing development manager at R.J. Reynolds; and a co-owner with her husband, Edward T. Evans, of Parkway Services, a corporate facilities maintenance firm.
Dr. Evans is a native of Greensboro and a graduate of Dudley High School. She received her bachelor’s degree in mass media and communications from Hampton University and
her MBA from the University of Wisconsin at Madison, where she had a fellowship from the
Consortium for Graduate Study in Management. She earned her doctorate in Leadership Studies from NCA&T.
Dr. Evans has been a member of AAUW since 2019. She chairs the College/University
Partnership Committee and has facilitated several Start Smart Workshops.
SECRETARY NOMINEE
Dr. Renee Dow, Director of Operations, Guilford County Schools, received an associate in science degree from Davidson Davie Community College, a bachelor’s in human relations with a concentration in Social Work from High Point University, a master’s degree in business administration with a focus on Global Business from Argony University, and a Doctor of Business Administration in Global Business Specialization from Keiser University.
Dr. Dow has worked in the “For Profit” and “Not for Profit’ sector for over 20 years, both locally and abroad. She specializes in identifying solutions to business challenges by implementing business solutions using strategic methodological approaches that are unique to each business. Her personal and professional experiences have afforded her the opportunity to work with many community leaders to deliver innovative business solutions within organizations. She believes in quality and not quantity when delivering excellence in customer service that provide optimal business outcomes that result in wins, winning solutions for all.
Dr. Dow has been married to Raymond Dow Jr. for 25 years. She is the mother of seven beautiful children, four beautiful grandchildren and counting.
Dr. Dow believes in serving communities locally and abroad. She served as a member of Thomasville City Schools Board of Education and the Yadkin Valley Academy Advisory Board and President of the Parent Teacher Association for Thomasville Middle School. She enjoys traveling, writing, reading, and spending time with her family.
Dr. Dow believes in building and maintaining community relationships through developing and implementing strategic processes that ensure long term and successful outcomes.
