KICK OFF – Represent: From Women’s Suffrage to Running for Office, and Beyond

REPRESENT: From Women’s Suffrage to Changing the World

We are going to have a virtual program with the authors of Represent: The Woman’s Guide To Running For Office and Changing The World, comedian, actress, and activist June Diane Raphael, and Kate Black, former chief of staff at EMILY’s list (their full bios are on the registration page) in conversation with Carla Banks, City of Greensboro’s Director of Communications and Marketing.  The book explains how women of all “colors, sizes, shapes, backgrounds, and bank accounts” can consider running for office. It’s a great workbook written with humor and infographics. It’s the perfect book for teens and 20-somethings! The event is co-sponsored by the Greensboro Public Library Foundation, Greensboro History Museum, and the League of Women Voters of the Piedmont Triad. To register, you can go to https://bit.ly/2PpT7YQ

This is the kickoff event for Represent: From Women’s Suffrage to Running for Office, and Beyond, two days of collaborative programming commemorating the ratification of the 19th Amendment. August 26.
