January 28th, Jaclyn Shearer, is a Meteorologist at WXII 12 News.
Her forecasting career started in Reno, Nevada, but Jaclyn is no stranger to the Carolinas.
Before she came to the Triad in 2020, Jaclyn worked in Charlotte where she covered Hurricane Florence’s landfall and won an Emmy for her work about the storm.
A self-proclaimed weather geek, Jaclyn is an active member of the American Meteorological Society and the National Weather Association. She also sits on several NWA committees.
Jaclyn and her husband are a proud auntie and uncle to four nephews and one niece. They’re also “pawrents” to a sweet rabbit, Rebel.
Jaclyn is passionate about animal rights advocacy, encouraging girls to pursue careers in STEM, literacy projects, environmental projects, and enjoys just about any type of mentorship. She also enjoys cooking, reading and working out in her free time.
