IT FOR GIRLS – Intersection UNCG 2023 camp

Dear Parents

You are invited to secure your reservation for the student or students that you wish to register for the

2023 IT For Girls, Intersection UNCG camp.

Rising 6th through rising 10 graders will participate in coding classes to learn Python, JavaScript, and HTML which are used to design websites and apps as well as social media sites. These basic languages serve as an introduction to computer science and engineering. Students will also enjoy a maker space of activities using programmable robotics and electronic kits.

Volunteer instructors will be upper level high school girls who are important near-peer mentors and role models. We are using TechGirlz lesson plans which are recognized throughout the nation.

UNCG College of Visual and Performing Arts graduate students will introduce tools and technology that are used in dance, music, theatre and visual arts such as animation.

We are grateful to UNCG for providing the meeting spaces, including computer labs.
.
There is a $25 pre-registration fee to cover the setup cost.
