PREPARING YOUR POSTER:
Each poster will be one PowerPoint slide in the landscape orientation. You may be creative; however, the essential template elements shall be:
Header: Find Your STEM Conference March 9, 2024 sponsored by JSNN and AAUW (logos are available), your name, grade, and school
My STEM Path: Education, Service learning, Extracurricular activities such as clubs and camps, Mentors and advocates – This section is usually text taken from your resume and allows you to select important components which have helped you be successful.
Significant experiences: This section could be photographs that show examples of very meaningful events.
Future Goals: Education, Giving back such as volunteering and outreach, Career preparation such as internships or apprenticeships.
POSTER SUBMISSION DEADLINE: Poster presenters will submit their poster artwork on this form no later than Saturday February 24th by 11:59 p.m. (two weeks before the event). This will give Mrs. Tew and Dr. Bonner time to review your poster, provide feedback, accept any edits, and print your poster for display.
ARRIVAL TIME at JSNN, 2907 East Gate City Blvd, Saturday March 9th by 9:30 a.m. Ample parking is available and is free. At check-in, poster presenters will receive their name tags and t-shirts which will be worn throughout the conference to identify you as a volunteer.
POSTER PRESENTORS RESPONSIBILITIES: Attend the morning plenary session in the auditorium starting at 10 a.m. At the conclusion of the panel discussions, poster presenters will be directed out of the auditorium to take their positions with their posters. The audience will be released for the poster, lunch, and networking session at approximately 11:40. You will have the opportunity to give an oral presentation and to answer participants questions about your STEM journey.
