START SMART (C/U Webpage 3)
Start Smart salary negotiations skills workshops are held at college campuses in the Triad area and are designed to address gender pay inequities. Students at AAUW Partner Colleges and Universities learn skills to successfully negotiate salaries. Qualified AAUW trainers guide learning through presentations, skill development exercises and discussion.
The three hour interactive workshop helps young women applying for career positions to
- learn the importance of making a budget,
- recognize the kind of research that is essential before each interview,
- practice interview negotiation skills related to salaries and benefits.
